we do matters. Join us!Job SummaryThe Senior Manager, Safety -
Audit and Locomotive Engineer Process Enhancement is responsible
for leading and handling the safety audit program for all terminals
within the enterprise. The role plans, schedules, executes and
reports on safety audits, as well as develops and presents
executive level proposals on action items to improve performance
and compliance. Furthermore, the incumbent oversees the training
and development of audit staff and coordinates with other
stakeholders to ensure alignment and consistency of safety
standards and practices.Main ResponsibilitiesAudit Planning and
Execution--- Plan, schedule, and execute safety audits for all
terminals within the enterprise, covering areas such as equipment,
operations, procedures, policies, regulations, training, and
incident management--- Analyze and evaluate audit findings and
identify root causes, risks, gaps, and best practices--- Prepare
and present audit reports and executive-level proposals on action
items to improve safety performance and compliance--- Monitor and
track the implementation and effectiveness of action items and
provide feedback and support--- Develop and maintain the safety
audit program framework, methodology, tools, and documentationTeam
Management and Development--- Lead a holistic group of railroaders
to form an audit team focused on comprehensive safety
assessments--- Oversee the training and development of safety audit
staff and ensure they have the required skills, knowledge, and
competencies--- Establish dynamic testing training programs to
continuously improve safety audit effectiveness--- Oversee Engine
Service Officers (ESO) and Supervisor, Locomotive Engineer (SLE)
onboarding to ensure new employees are adequately trained--- Lead
the team in setting and managing expectations--- Work along side
the director regarding managing, building and developing the ESO
desk and office rolesStakeholder Coordination and Collaboration---
Coordinate and collaborate cross functionally to ensure alignment
and consistency of safety standards and practices--- Handle the
Network 24/7 desk to ensure continuous oversight and response to
safety concernsTechnology and Tools Implementation--- Identify and
implement necessary tools and emerging technologies to enhance
safety audit processes--- Stay updated on the latest trends,
developments, and best practices in safety management and
auditWorking ConditionsThe role is performed in a combination of
office and outdoor environments with various weather conditions
with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday with occasional work
outside of regular hours. Due to the nature of the role, the
incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure and
stress. The role requires regular travel (up to 50%) within the
United States (U.S.) and
Canada.RequirementsExperienceTransportation Logistics and
Locomotive Engineering--- Minimum 10 years of experience in
transportation logistics, with at least 5 years in a management
roleo Minimum 5 years of experience as a certified Locomotive
Engineer in Canada or the U.S.o Minimum 5 years of experience in
safety audit, with a consistent record of leading and handling
safety audit programs and
projectsEducation/Certification/Designation--- High School Diploma
or General Education Development (GED)--- Valid Driver's License---
Certified in both Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR) and United
States Operating Rules (USOR)--- Bachelor's Degree in
Transportation Management, Operations Management, or a related
discipline*--- Certification in safety audit, safety management, or
related field*--- Trained in Behavior Based Safety fundamentals

in terminal operations--- Knowledge of Locomotive Engineer's Report
(LER) and Locomotive Digital Video Recorder (LDVR) operation and
computer--- Knowledge of freight cars and locomotive air brakes---
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)---
Knowledge of Train Marshalling and Distributive Power (DP)
Placement Rules--- Fluently bilingual, both written and verbal
